What
are water fed poles?
The Tucker
Pole system uses very strong and light aluminium poles which carry pure
water to a soft bristled brush head which has been designed and made for
cleaning glass. The windows, frames and the sills are scrubbed with the
brush to loosen the dirt, then the dirt is flushed away with jets of
pure water.
Why is
pure water so important?
If you
pour
tap water over a window and wait for it to dry, you will notice that it
leaves marks on the glass. This stain is caused by chemicals, minerals
and organisms in the water. The water which we use passes through a
filtration system to remove 99.9% of the impurities.
The
impurities in water are measured in parts per million and are referred
to as Total Dissolved Solids. The TDS reading for tap water in a soft
water area will be around 200 PPM and 400 + in a hard water area. The
water that passes through our system has a TDS reading of 0 PPM. So, as
the window dries, there are no residual marks or smears.
Where does the water come from?
We
don’t need to have access to water supply at your premises, so we bring
the water with us. The SKS van contains a 750 litre tank of purified
water.
Water is
treated on our premises using a 5 stage filtration process. The water
is pumped in to the tank in the van. When we arrive at your site the
water is pumped through the poles to the brushes and cleaning area.
Will
my windows be crystal clear after your first visit?
Not
always, there are many variables which affect the end result. If your
previous window cleaner has used a
solution similar to domestic washing up liquid to clean your windows, it
may take one or two washes to remove the residues. Using cleaning
solutions which are not designed specifically for cleaning windows,
leaves the windows looking great just after cleaning but soon gets dirty afterwards.
When we start
cleaning for you, we have to remove the cleaning solution deposits to
ensure a spotless finish. After initial cleaning, there may still be
some spots on the glass. These will disappear after a few cleans when
the deposits have been totally removed.
We also make
sure that the accumulated dirt and dust is removed completely from the
frame, especially the top.
Why do you
leave the windows wet, why don’t you dry them?
As the
windows have been rinsed with 99.9% pure water, they will dry clear.
Will your
system save us money?
Prices in the window cleaning industry have been high because of the
risk of working at height and the cost of hiring equipment such as
cherry pickers. When using the water fed pole system we stay at ground
level and reducing the risk therefore the cost. |
